Today in the pouring rain at Occupy Wall Street’s #F29 Shut Down the Corporations action. Matt Taibbi, my journalist crush, spoke to an eager crowd of around 100 frozen and soaked supporters about the mortgage crisis and how banks packaged risky mortgages and sold them like dealers selling oregano and calling it high grade weed. Incredible, relatable, and humorous speaker, definitely the highlight of the day. After that my camera started to go haywire from rain damage due to my ghetto “rainproof” sling I made out of someones scarf and somehow I got kenneled by the cops twice and once the mandolin player and the clown got arrested I decided it was my time to leave… I also dressed extremely conservative chic- all girls school cute today, just in case any cops tried to arrest me. They were so nice they even made me a special kennel that only I was allowed to stand in so “I wouldn’t get hurt with the other press photographers.” I stayed in that box for like .5 seconds and than attempted again to be cool like the big press guys (which worked for about .5 seconds). Damn I need a big publications name to drop so I can stand in the hot spots… or a fake press pass…
